Second Ave House
Extension to an existing single-storey 1900’s bungalow to accommodate a family with their evolving needs. The new addition wraps around a mature Jacaranda tree to the north, preserving and celebrating the established garden setting.
A series of connected gabled pavilions defines the extension, forming a generous L-shaped open-plan living area. The layout provides a sense of spatial generosity and functional flow. Careful attention has been given to ensure the new volume sits respectfully as a secondary element to the landscape and original heritage home.
Construction details include reverse brick veneer perimeter walls and a burnished concrete floor that enhances thermal performance, which anchors the interior with a sense of robustness and continuity.
