Lincoln Ave House

Lincoln Ave House

This project involved the transformation of a red brick bungalow in Black Forest through a carefully considered extension and renovation. The design strategy embraced the existing structure by incorporating the original front door and external wall into the new interior layout.

The original house now accommodates quiet retreat spaces such as the bedrooms, while the new L-shaped extension houses the active living and utility areas, including the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. This spatial arrangement creates a clear separation between private and communal zones, supporting both relaxation and everyday functionality.

A contemporary addition wraps around the original footprint, creating a new entryway to the dwelling. The front door opens into a light-filled hallway, enhanced by a continuous skylight that brings daylight deep into the space. Feature green panelling provides both aesthetic warmth and functional design—it guides movement toward the home’s active living areas while cleverly concealing the bathroom door and acting as a subtle partition to the pantry zone.
