Beulah Road House
Restoration of a single-storey cottage built in 1900. Previously a dark house with a south-facing yard, the new gable extension provides natural light all year round. Remnants of the existing masonry wall and fireplace were retained in the kitchen, with glimpses of the original chimney through the high-level window.
‘Secret’ study off the main hallway, hidden behind a fluted partition wall, provides a flexible working space in this Beulah Park residence.
Courtyard with bluestone paving and charcoal batten screen conceals the rear carport. Bifold doors open the extension onto the garden, with a masonry bench seat to anchor the outdoor table – a place to rest and take in Kurt Wilkinson’s innovative native garden design.
